Give me some tunes yo!

Tonight, I ventured out into the sprawling metropolis that is Harlingen (actually just my neighborhood) and went for a 5 mile run.  I waited until 7:30pm, and I can tell you with certainty, it is still very hot at 7:30pm. Hot, hot, hot.  And what is up with the no wind we have had this summer?  Really, this is like the windiest place ever.  But not this summer, its still.  Anyways...5 mile run, hot, sweaty, finished, ate some peanut butter, drank some G2, and called it a night.

When I left the house this evening, I was in kind of a race against nightfall.  It was getting dark, and I wanted to get in at least close to an hour.  So, I raced out and whadoyaknow, I forgot my dang iPod.  Tragic.  About mile .5 I started a mini-panic.  Would I be able to still run?  This is so boring?  Are other runners/bikers/drivers thinking "that girl is a crazy running without tunes"?  But I trudged on.  And there were parts to the silence that I enjoyed.  I can't even tell you what I thought about (dinner crossed my mind...as did "dear Jesus its hot"), but it was a little bit of a nice change to just be out there without the boom of my tunes in my head.  That being said...........

I have to run with music (or TV).  Its and integral part to firin' me up and keepin' me going.  Next weekend, I'm going to need an awful lot of music to keep me pumped up for 9 hours and 11 minutes.  Will my iPod even last that long?  NOPE...I'll have to ration it for really tough times.  But, for the time I do use it, I want the BEST tunes possible.  Here is what I currently have on my iPod to get me going....

Lacy's Top 10 I Could Run Forever and Ever Tunes (that I've bothered to purchase on iTunes)....

1.  The Club Can't Even Handle Me Right Now by Flo Rida (it can't, I know this...I <3 this song)
2.  Let It Rock by Kevin Rudolph/Lil' Wayne (Michael Phelps gets pumped to Lil' Wayne)
3.  All The Things She Said by T.A.T.U. (old school I know...its my randomest jam)
4.  Bad Romance by Lady Gaga (the ultimate running song for me)
5.  Circus by Britney Spears
6.  Kiss and Tell by Ke$ha
7.  Evacuate the Dancefloor  (do you see a theme here?)
8.  Take It Off by Ke$ha (really all Ke$ha songs...)
9.  Fighter by Christina Aguilera (for all those that have made me angry)
10. Disturbia by Rihanna

I'm kind of predictable.  I'm sure these are lots of people's favorites (maybe...hopefully?).  And I have waaaayyyy more songs than that in my shuffle.  But I need more, lots more. So here's your homework blog followers (I think I have a couple), send me your favorite pump me up songs!  Leave them here in  my comments, send them to Facebook, lacysheahealey@gmail.com, tell me in person, call me on the phone (if you have my number), but get them to me!  I need a wicked good playlist for next week.  So help me out, send me your tunes!

Thanks for cheering me on!

Lacy
