So I have to be honest...

I didn't run yesterday.  I finished my blog, had my clothes and shoes on, and then Mr. Air Repair came downstairs with a bunch of doom and gloom.  Kristofor and I spent the rest of the night discussing the joys of home ownership, and it got late.  I went to bed.  So there ya go, it's week 2 and it's the first night that "life got in the way" of my training.  I'm sure it won't be the last.  It happens (it happened more than I care to share last time...), but the point is to not let ONE off night turn into two...three...four...or a week.

GOOD NEWS!  I ran tonight!  Just finished my weekly "hill run."  4 miles with 4 minutes of uphill.  This time I did all 4 minutes in a row to change it up!  It was a good run, and I really need to shower, but now I'm blogging and watching my husband ride the spin bike while he reads aloud articles from Runner's World.  Yes, we are that couple.  I apologize.

So HILLS!  Anytime (like tonight) when I run a hill workout, I think of Maine.  My hubby is from there, and my in-laws live there.  Beautiful country, lots of hills.  When we were home with them last month, we ran a 5k on the 4th of July.  I asked beforehand about the "hill situation" and was assured by my mother-in-law that it was a flat course.  Flat Harlingen...Flat Maine...different world.  Flat Maine=Texas Hill Country.  So that was  tough, fun race...but I set a PR (personal record...) of 26:11 and was super pumped.  So I CAN do hills...I just don't really care to :).  Halfway through our vacation, my husband and I walked down the road to where they put the boats into water.  It is a hugely steep incline and its about a .25 mile back up.  We ran back up...took approximately 5 minutes.  And I went inside and swore to never do it again.  I have mad respect for my mother-in-law and sister-in-law for running up there so frequently!  It's tough with the terrain and the weather AND they do a 5k a month!  They are "wicked pissah!"

So it's halfway through the week and I have 3 more runs to do.  Tomorrow is my day with Renea, and I'm pumped for the fun workout I'm sure I'll have there!  I'll probably run Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (I think a 7 or 8 miler...YEESH!).  This week has been a little brutal, but I'm determined to push through.

I remembered today, it's August.  And in my family August means Cotton Ginning Season.  And Cotton Ginning Season means my Dad works crazy long hours and the inevitable Cotton Season craziness ensues over our family.  Welp, Dad is a working...and life it is a crazy!  Last August, we decided to buy a house, my husband took a trip to the ER, we both started new jobs.  Let's see what this August shall bring!

Thanks for cheering me on,

Lacy
