It's been a few days, and I'm about to start my run for week 2 shortly (yesterday, I cross trained)!
Week one ended on a rather hot, sweaty note. Saturday morning, I woke up (again) with another allergy attack of my poor eyes...
**Side Note: I'm allergic to life. Literally. At this point I have no idea what all I'm allergic to, but it's a lot. I actually learn new allergic things all the time, most recently, DiorSHOW mascara. Right now, when I have an attack my eyes swell and get reeeealllly red. It's super attractive and I love it. Everyone wants to hang out with the girl with the eye ordeal going on.
Anyways, I popped 50 mg of benadryl and took a nap. When I woke up, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to run because I just felt so groggy. BUT, I powered through, popped on my trusty iPod blaring "The Club Can't Even Handle Me Right Now" and away I went (on the treadmill that is...) It was a surprisingly strong 4 miles mixed in with speedwork!
Saturday night out with our way cool friends Brandon and Coleen was a blast (I could say all sorts of fun stuff about Coleen on this blog because she told me she never intends to read it bc its boring. Maybe I'll have to remind her who graciously went as her date to a super cheez Michael Bolton concert last year...) Got up Sunday and was NOT looking forward to a run. A 6 mile run at that. My husband got up at 6 am and ran 12 miles OUTDOORS like a crazy person. I'm not that motivated, and I think he only did it so he would have as many miles as me for the week :)! I got around to my run in the late afternoon, did it while watching part of the newest Adam Sandler movie, and I was exhausted and HOT afterwards.
Now WHY would it be so HOT if I'm running indoors on a treadmill? I'm so glad you asked!....
Our A/C works about as well as our government lately. It really doesn't work well. In fact, right now, it is a rather unpleasant 83.5 degrees in my home, although, it should be 74. There's a nifty air repair guy here checking it out for the second day in a row. It's pretty much a dinosaur and needs to be replaced. Yikes! So much for getting new kitchen countertops soon. Looks like I'll be getting a much more lovely Air Handler Unit. Yipee Skipee. At least we have a warranty-ish thing...we'll see how that works out.
Soooooo...it's epic hot and I don't want to do a hill workout on a treadmill in a hot room. But I'm going to. I could run outside...I think it may be hotter though, and no hills. BAH! This week may be a toughie for me. And only week 2! I'm sure it won't be the last in the next few months, but it will be worth it in the long run!
Thanks for cheering me on!
Lacy
PS: I just reread this and I sound rather grumpy. Which I kind of am. I'm sorry :( I'll do better next time!
yay for lacy!! im not gonna lie, i find your blogs very entertaining, and not to mention, you totally woke my monster!! my workout monster inside me! :) after reading your blog i decided to kick it up a notch on my daily mundane mile walks/run with ari. i went back to my pre-baby workouts. i run 3mi everyday with a mile of nasty grueling exercises that people hate and i enjoy. i do it to relax, and if any inches are shed...that's always a plus :) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
